There's exciting news for all Magento Community Edition users today - version 1.6 of Magento's open source e-commerce platform has been released. As with major releases, there are nearly three hundred bug fixes in this latest edition in addition to a few new features and improvements. Users of older WordPress versions may be receiving e-mails from Google urging them to upgrade to the latest version of the popular blogging CMS. Google announced this notification service back in 2009 on the Google Webmaster Tool's blog, but it was mostly pushed aside until last year's WordPress 3.0 update. Yesterday, eBay announced its intent to fully acquire Los Angeles-based Magento Commerce (formerly known as Varien). This move follows a year of holding a minority stake in the company and monitoring its growth and potential.
